Snow Days... Snow Days

At the beginning of this month, Mommy took us outside so we could see snow for the first time. Fiona and I got dressed up in our coat and sweater and headed out. We weren't as interested in the snow as Mommy thought we would be. Fiona kept shaking because she was cold. We were just excited to be outside going for a walk with Mommy. Daddy stayed inside with our little brother and waved at us from the window. Fiona and I will be going out again in the snow very soon I am sure. Here are the pictures from our little adventure.

We're BACK...

Things have been crazy since we moved to Korea. Lots of things have changed.
For one the weather here in Korea is very different than Okinawa! It is so cold here and even though we have fur coats, I don't think anything could prepare us for how cold it gets here. It has already snowed twice. We have yet to be out to play in the snow but Mommy and Daddy have been busy with our new brother.

We also have a new addition to the family. We have a new baby brother. Fiona thinks it is her baby and our Mommy and Daddy are just taking care of him for her. I think he is pretty cool. He wakes the whole house up at all hours of the night. It took Fiona and I a little while to get used to his crying. We are looking forward to the day we get to play with him.

It has been a while...where do we begin? Well, first as you may have noticed our Mommy had to change the name of our blog because we no longer live in Okinawa.
We moved from Okinawa

to Korea

Here are some pictures of us.

We arrived in Korea at the end of May because the airline would not fly us in June because we are very delicate and have problems with regulating our body temperatures. We were in the kennel for a little longer than we would have liked but we are very happy as you can see in the pictures to be with our Mommy and Daddy in our new house. We also have some other news... Mommy and Daddy keep telling us that we are going to have a little baby brother. We don't know what this means but Mommy says that everyone will understand the sign. We will try and update this blog as much as we can. Mommy apologizes for the lack of updates but she was very busy with moving! Stay tuned...

Dog Run Fun

The other day Mommy & Daddy took us on a L-O-N-G car ride and then to a Dog Run. We had a lot of fun running around and playing with the balls. It had been raining the few days prior to us going so it was muddy. That didn't stop us from having fun! As soon as we got home we were both given baths!

This is Satchmo's new thing, to sit and guard his food so Fiona won't eat it. The sad part is he gets so upset he doesn't eat his food. I only put the food down for 15 minutes and if he doesn't eat it then I take it up and try on the next feeding time. He actually went almost two days without eating. He is such a hard head and BULLY! I guess he finally broke down and was hungry enough to not worry about what Fiona was doing and eat his food. Look at these Yoda ears...

New Stuff

Mommy recently got us some new stuff. We got new beds, again! The covers of the last ones she bought were to difficult to get back on the bed. Satchmo also tore a hole in his and it was unable to be fixed. We also got some new bones that we love and so does mommy because we haven't destroyed them yet. We are trying though.

BAD BAD DOG

I've been a bad bad dog! Last week I started vomiting uncontrollably, so off to Sensei’s office we went. He did blood work which came back normal and put me on a stomach medication and told us to come back if I kept vomiting. We went back a couple days later because I had gotten sick a few more times. Sensei did an x ray this time and didn’t find anything but kept me there to run more tests. Nothing was found in the testing and I was sent home with a new stomach medication. The next morning, while I was outside with Mommy she was looking at me funny when this came out in my poop. Yes you read right, this came out of my butt! The funny thing is that Mommy and Daddy don’t give me these toys at home so Mommy thinks I got a hold of this while I was at a dog hotel while they were in Tokyo on vacation.

Our Birthday Celebration

I recently turned 2 years old back on June 4th, and Fiona will be turning one on June 17th. Mommy decided to do a duo birthday party for us yesterday. We had a great time at our favorite dog cafe (Cafe Leafmoon) http://cafeleafmoon.ti-da.net/

Our humans ate a tasty lunch, sipped on some coffee, and ate the yummy Kahlua Cupcakes with Fudge Frosting that mommy made.

Yesterday was a good day for us Frenchies! Fiona got to visit her first festival here in Japan and have her picture taken with the Koi. This was my second year at the festival and the weather was much nicer this year. On Tuesday we went to the Heartful Dog Resort/Cafe to celebrate our friend Poncho's birthday.

Cherry Blossoms @ Nago Castle Ruins

We arrive at Nago Castle Ruins and to our surprise...

We had to walk up all of these stairs!

Once we got up all those stairs we were trying to find the look-out tower...

Once we saw how much longer we had to go we chose to walk back and get the car and find the look-out tower. We stopped at this cute little park to rest for a minute.

We found this alternate route back and crossed this big bridge.

On the bridge there was a great view of the city.

Mommy got great pictures on the bridge.

The cherry blossoms were beautiful.

Now back down the stairs...

We finally found the look-out tower and this is the view from the tower. Part of the top was corded off for construction so we were only able to go up about half of the way.

We were so tired on the way back we were knocked out in the car!

Fiona The Conehead

On Thanksgiving day, mommy and daddy took Fiona away and she was gone for a while. She came home the next day with bandages on her paws and a cut on her tummy. Mommy keeps her up on the couch with her now so we can't play rough. She has a cone on her head like I use to wear because of my allergies.

She is doing very well and has had no complications.

Visit With Conan At Shuri Kannondo Temple

This was our second visit to the Shuri Kannondo Temple. The first time we came to visit, Conan was sleeping so we were unable to see him. When we arrived this time Conan was out on a walk so we decided to wait for him to return.

Ryutan Paradise Cafe

"Do you puppies want to go for a car ride?" Those words are music to our ears. Off we went to check out a new dog cafe with our friends Bambi and Poncho. Ryutan Paradise Cafe http://www.paradise-kitchen.com/rpc/, here we come. It was such a nice day outside that we were able to stick our heads out of the open car windows. Ryutan Paradise Cafe is very nice and decorated so cute. We all sat outside in a covered patio area while our mommies drank coffee and had some sweets. Everywhere you looked they had their little trademark. Even on the belt buckle of the waitress had it. We like it because we think it kind of looks like a French Bulldog. After the cafe we headed off to Shuri Kannondo Temple to visit the praying dog Conan. That will be in the next post. We had a very good time today with our friends. As always we have a people hangover today and we are very lazy. Fiona was so tired last night when we got home and she fell asleep with her tongue hanging out of her mouth. We met a new friend this weekend named Momo. We went to visit Cafe Leafmoon and had a great time. Momo is just three weeks older than Fiona. She is a very soft and loving little girl. Fiona and I look forward to when we get to see her again. Last week Bambi came over for a playdate while our mommies make cookies. (See mommy's One Sweet Hobby blog for pictures) Poor Bambi didn't get more than 5 minutes to lay down because Fiona and I were following him around the house all day! Fiona had a good time with him here but she had to go in her playpen after a while. Bambi's mom said he was so tired after he left here he was snoring really loud. We had a really go time with him here.

Poor Fiona has allergies like I do. Hers are different and show up as welts all over her back and sides. Mine are all underneath me. She is now on Steroids and an Antibiotics. Mommy is going to start me on a grain free diet pretty soon because my allergies haven't cleared up. Fiona is just supposed to get off all treats and bones to see if she is allergic to her food.

She is getting really tall and is about half my height now.

Fiona got a new collar and leash. I must admit she does look cute in it!

A little update on me. As you remember I have been on this new Salmon and Rice food because of my allergies. It has cleared my bumps underneath on my chest and tummy. I do however still lick my paws constantly and rub my face on whatever I can find. I found a new spot to rub my face... on the kitchen rug and this is the outcome of that!

Cafe Millet & Fun With Friends

On Tuesday Fiona & I went over to Bambi & Poncho's house to play. We then went to Cafe Millet to play with some other dogs.

Here are some pictures of us playing. Mommy was really excited because this is the first time that Fiona and I actually played together with the same toy. We had a lot of fun playing with Bambi & Poncho's toys.

Mommy has been letting Fiona and I have supervised playtime each day so we can get aquainted with one another. I try to be as gentle as I can be with her. I do get really excited that I have a playmate right here in my own home! We both need a nap after our playtime!

A Chocolate Egg?

Mommy was out shopping the other day and brought me home not only a baby sister, but a chocolate egg too. It isn't actually a chocolate egg, it is just an egg that smells like chocolate. I had first played with one at Mama's Kitchen. I wanted to take it home with me but mommy said I had to leave it there because it was the cafe dog's toy. My friends Bambi and Poncho also have one. I am very happy now that I have one for myself!

I am still not sure about this whole baby sister thing. She whines, eats, and poops! She is a fiesty little something too! I can't play with her yet because I am really big and I get really excited when she is down at my level. I do keep my eye on her every second of the day though. I get in trouble a lot because I like to go up to her room when she is sleeping and wake her up! I can't wait until I can play with her.

My Potty Bell

When I was little, mommy taught me to ring a bell when I needed to go potty outside instead of scratching at the door. I don't always use this how I am supposed to though! I sometimes just want to go outside to see what is going on so, I ring the bell to get out of the house. If mommy and daddy ask me if I want to go for a walk or a car ride, I go to the bell and ring it continuously while they are putting on their shoes. They think it is so funny when I do this.

Can you say happy dog? Daddy threw me a bottle to play with today and I was loving every minute of it!

As if that wasn't enough excitement for a day... I went for a car ride today as well! We went to our usual pet stores and looked for a baby sister for me. I don't think mommy can go into a pet store and not come out with something. Mommy and daddy spoil me and get me all kinds of cool stuff. Today they got me this ball of rope and it tastes like strawberry = (ichigo). I don't think I looked up from this ball for at least 2 hours after we got home. When mommy finally took it away from me because it was my bedtime, it was a very wet ball!

Happy 2nd Birthday Bambi

I had a very busy day yesterday. I went with mommy to celebrate my friend Bambi's 2nd birthday. We first went to Bambi's house where I played non stop with him and his brother Poncho. We then took a short car ride to Cafe Millet to celebrate. Babmi's mommy got balloons and party supplies from The Balloon Factory (her shop) . We enjoyed banana cake and our humans enjoyed a brownie cake with strawberry filling that my mommy made. Everyone in the cafe enjoyed even the other dogs enjoyed our goodies. Bambi wasn't too into the bacon and peanut butter flavored bubbles we got him. As you can see in the pictures I sure did enjoy them! At the end of the day we were all tuckered out and it is now the next day at 11:30 a.m. and I am still sleeping and snoring really hard. We had a great time as always with Bambi, Poncho, and their mommy.

My New Baby Sister

I have sad news to share… My new baby sister has a
health issue and we will not be able to add her to our
family. Mommy and daddy are still on their quest for
a baby sister for me.

This is the new addition to our family. We went to my groomers today, not to get my nails clipped but because we got this email from them last night and we went to check out this little princess. I wasn't too interested in her because I was playing ball with one of the ladies there. I did go and sniff her and licked her ear but that was about it. My mommy and daddy keep telling me that my world is going to change soon!

Today was a good day! I had my first kiss with this older Frenchie. I went to get my nails clipped today and when we walked through the door I had no idea that my life was about to change. As soon as I saw her I couldn't stop chasing after her. This was my first time getting to play with another Frenchie, and I loved it!

Today a delivery man visited our house. I was very excited while mommy was opening the package that she kept saying was for me. Unfortunately, it was this new red collar that I now wear in the house. I do have to admit it is nicer than that plastic cone that I used to wear for my scratching. Mommy and daddy like this one better also because I don't hurt them anymore when I am following them around the house. The good thing about this one is that it is soft enough for me to sleep on too. Red= New collar, White= Me, Blue= my mood because I have to wear this collar.

Bath Time

Yesterday, I had loads of fun outside. Mommy gave me a bath; I had fun trying to playing with the piece of hose that mommy dropped on the ground. I also had fun playing in the water!

Mommy also taught me that if I touch the hose the water will come out.

I went on a long car ride the other day to Naha. While there we went to a pet store and I got this new shirt. It is nice and cool for the summer because it is a mesh material.

I love my new food and here is the proof...mommy filled half of my food bowl with the new food (which is the dark brown triangular shaped food) and the other half with my old food which is the light brown. You can see which I ate first.

Mommy made her friend a cake for her shop tonight. I was at her feet just waiting for that tasty frosting to fall but mommy was really careful not to drop anything.

New Food & Medicine

As you all can see from my last post about my new toy, I am back in the cone! I starting itching again, rubbing my face all against my bed and the carpet, and licking my paws. I have a little red rash of red bumps all over my body. I had these same symptoms a few months ago and the vet put me on antibiotics and steroids thinking it was just a skin infection. I did clear up but I started itching again about a week after finishing my meds. Mommy took me back to the vet yesterday. The vet is now thinking that I have food allergies. The food I had been eating was a sensitive stomach food made with chicken. The vet put me back on antibiotics for two weeks and a steroid for 5 days. Mommy switched my food to one that isn't made with any chicken or beef.

My New Toy

Mommy and daddy took me to the seawall behind our house today, because there was a festival going on. I was very excited to see all the people, but I got a little overwhelmed after a little bit. A lot of people were petting me and I love it! We could only stay out for a little while because it is to hot for me outside. After we all took a little nap, we went to a couple of pet stores and they bought me this new toy. I am loving this new toy. It is the first thing I got out of my toybox when I woke up this morning.

My mommy has been busy baking. I have been busy eating all of the powdered sugar that falls on the floor when she is making icing.

Day with Bambi

Last week my friend Bambi came over to play while our mommies made a Barbie cake. I was a big bully though and chased Bambi all over the house. He had to find refuge under the kithen table.
Bambi is thinking here that he will be safe... yeah right I still came after him!
While our mommies went to the store we shared my room. It was very weird to have a roomate!
Here we are trying to see if we can see what was going on.
Here was their final product. Not bad for their first try. Bambi and I did not get a piece. :(
